Creative Connections in Edinburgh

Creative Citizens joined forces with NESTA Scotland to commission a film for the AHRC Connected Communities Showcase event in Edinburgh on 4 July 2013. The film, led by NESTA Scotland, showcases the Make It Local programme and depicts the advantages of using open data to offer community services. It focuses on 2 local authority partners in Edinburgh (Edinburgh Outdoors: www.edinburghoutdoors.org.uk) and Aberdeen (Smart Journey: www.smartjourney.co.uk).

The film was shown in the Asset Mapping workshop at the event organised by the Community-led Design Strand, making links to potential media interventions to be included in our work with local communities in London.

I hope to be writing an update on our asset mapping methodology soon, with insights from the various workshops (with communities and other interest groups), progress with our visualisation and analysis methods, and thoughts about connecting, developing, disseminating and sharing the resource with communities, community organisations and other co-production projects, particularly within the Connected Communities programme. But it was nice that our workshop got a mention in Keri Facer’s reflections on the AHRC summit πŸ™‚
