Why do people attend social media surgeries?

Low Hill Social Media Surgery 11th October 2011

Last week I attended my first Social Media Surgery, in Low Hill, Wolverhampton. I signed up as someone who could offer help (a surgeon) rather than someone looking for help. As it happened, the surgeons outnumbered visitors, and so I was curious to find out what it was about social media surgeries that made people come along; not the people from community organisations who might be looking to find out about social media, but those who offer their time and professional expertise as volunteers.

I interviewed two of the visitors and one of the surgeons, and would have written a lengthier post here, but Steph Jennings of Podnosh beat me to it. Here’s her post.
